Christophe Pourny was born and raised in the Var region of Southern France. Growing up in his parents Antique store in Fayence gave him a natural knowledge and affection for all types of furniture.
After University in NICE,  Pourny moved to Paris to apprentice with his Uncle Pierre Madel at his shop on the Rue Jacob.   Meeting so many American clients in Paris inspired him, and twenty five years ago Christophe moved to New York.

At first working in clients townhouses in Greenwich Village and apartments on Park Avenue and the Upper East Side for several years, Christophe soon needed his own space for larger projects, and set up his restoration studio in Brooklyn.   The studio specializes in French Polish, Ceruse, Straw Marquetry, and other hand-padded finishes in the overall restoration of all types and periods of antiques.

After 25 years, Christophe is proud to call some of the most talented interior designers in the industry his clients, and friends.  Over this time Christophe has also worked extensively on the restoration of City Hall, Gracie Mansion, & The Holy See Mission to The United Nations.

In 2010, partner Jason Jobson joined the studio after having spent twenty years with French and Italian Luxury Fashion brands.  Together, the duo created an all natural collection of Tonics, Creams, Serums, and Waxes that are now sold in over 300 fine home and hardware stores in the US, Canada, & Japan.

The Studio has been featured in shelter publications such as Elle Decor, Architectural Digest, O Magazine, Martha Stewart Living, Veranda, & Time Magazine. Also in daily publications such as  The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, & The Chicago Tribune.

In 2016, Pourny wrote The Furniture Bible, a thorough how-to and photo book of restoration tips and techniques to identify and restore all types of antique furniture.   Foreword written by Martha Stewart.  Published by Artisan Books.

In 2019, the Studio opened a retail store in the Industry City complex in Sunset Park, Brooklyn.  A Home Goods emporium selling small batch and handmade products.
